Alissa Weinberger is an experienced immigration attorney currently working at MetroWest Legal Services since June 2020. Previous roles include a law student volunteer position at the Executive Office for Immigration Review, where Alissa drafted decisions on asylum applications and researched legal issues in removal proceedings. Alissa has also interned at Demissie & Church, focusing on appeals and responses to government motions regarding immigration cases. With a Juris Doctorate from Northeastern University School of Law, a Master's Degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology from New Mexico State University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Psychology from the University of North Carolina Asheville, Alissa has built a comprehensive background in legal advocacy and immigration law.

The mission of MetroWest Legal Services is to provide legal advocacy to protect and advance the rights of the poor, elderly, disabled and other disenfranchised people in our service area and to assist them in obtaining legal, social and economic justice. We help our clients secure access to basic needs and challenge institutional barriers in order to achieve equal justice for all. MetroWest Legal Services provides free civil legal aid to low-income people who would be denied justice without our help. Our priority practice areas include: Family Law, Housing, Homeless Advocacy, Government Benefits (including Social Security), Education, Elder Law & Immigration.
