Mika Purhonen

Mika Purhonen serves as Vice President at Metsä Board, overseeing the Joutseno BCTMP Mill and maintenance operations since April 2023. Prior experience includes serving as Production Director at Stora Enso (September 2018 - March 2023), managing extensive mill operations and emphasizing sustainable development and efficiency through WCM, TPM, and lean methods. Mika has held leadership positions at Efora Oy, including Site Manager roles focused on production efficiency and process management. Prior roles also encompass Maintenance Manager at Lappeenrannan Energia Oy and Maintenance Service Manager at Efora Oy, with a foundation in preventive maintenance as an engineer at Stora Enso. Education includes a Master’s degree in Engineering from LUT University and a special degree in management from the South Karelia Apprenticeship Training Centre.
