Roger Becker has extensive work experience in the engineering and design field. Roger is currently serving as the Director of Product Design and Delivery at Metso Outotec since July 2020. Prior to this, they worked at Outotec GmbH in various roles, including Head of GEDC (Global Equipment Delivery Center), PL Ferrous, Engineering Manager, and Senior Design Engineer/Lead Engineer. Before joining Outotec GmbH, they were a Design Engineer at Outokumpu Technology GmbH and a Project Engineer at Outokumpu Lurgi Metallurgy GmbH. Roger also worked as a Project Engineer at Bühler Group and as a Design Engineer for Aerodynamic Turbine Sealing Systems at TurboCom Turbine Components GmbH. Roger started their career as a Design Engineer at Antriebstechnik Dittrich GmbH and as a Steel Structure Mechanic at Carl Schenck AG.
Roger Becker attended the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt from 1990 to 1998, where they obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Mechanical Design and Thermal Machinery, including Turbomachinery, Combustion Engines, and Energy Technologies. In 2007, they attended the Schweißtechnische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt Mannheim and earned a degree as an International Welding Engineer, specializing in Welding Technology. Prior to these higher education experiences, from 1983 to 1986, Roger completed an apprenticeship at Carl Schenck AG, studying as a Steel Structure Mechanic. Roger also obtained their General Qualification for University Entrance from Heinrich-Emanuel-Merck-Schule Darmstadt from 1980 to 1983.
