Lauri Aspola is an experienced professional in the metallurgy and smelting industry, currently serving as the Director of Smelting Sales & Business Development at Metso since May 2023. With prior roles at Metso Outotec from July 2020 to May 2023 and Outotec from April 2008 to July 2020, Lauri has extensive expertise in proposal management and sales, leading initiatives such as the development of a greenfield copper smelter complex in collaboration with Chiyoda and Freeport. Previous positions also include various sales management and technology development roles, as well as a summer internship at CRU and supervisory positions at Boliden. Lauri holds a Master of Science in Metallurgy and Industrial Management from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan and a Master of Social Sciences in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Helsinki.
