Michael Gardner

Michael Gardner is an accomplished attorney with extensive experience in legal counsel and public service. As a current member of the Ohio Reclamation Commission since October 2019, Michael Gardner participates in hearings related to administrative appeals from decisions by the Chief of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. In addition to serving as Of Counsel at Meyers, Roman, Friedberg & Lewis since December 2015, Michael Gardner has operated a law practice since May 1993. Previous roles include General Counsel at Westmoreland Resources GP, LLC from September 2007 to March 2015, and Associate General Counsel at Murray Energy Corporation from June 2004 to May 2007, where responsibilities included serving as Vice President and Secretary of UMCO Energy, Inc., among other positions. Michael Gardner began a legal career as an Associate at Ulmer & Berne LLP from January 1992 to July 1995. Educational credentials include a JD from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, a BS in Environmental Science from Ohio University, and an MBA in Executive Management from Ashland University.
