Alan Porter

Alan moved to the role of General Counsel and Company Secretary in July 2019, having held the same role at Prudential plc. Prior to joining Prudential in 2012, Alan was the Group General Counsel of Tesco Plc for 4 years and before that held various senior legal positions at British American Tobacco plc, including 3 years at Farmers Insurance Group where he also became a member of the California Bar. Alan began his career as a solicitor at Simmons & Simmons.

Alan is Chairman of the GC100 – the association of General Counsels and Company Secretaries of the FTSE 100 and a member of the Takeover Panel.
