Michael Cook

Michael Cook, Ph.D., serves as the Head of Systematic Investment Research and Quantitative Fund Manager at M&G Investments since February 2024. Previously, Michael was the Head of Data & Analytics at Kernow Asset Management, contributing to portfolio management and research processes through quantitative research and data science from May 2022 to February 2024. Prior experience includes roles as a Quantitative Analyst at Lazard Asset Management, where Michael focused on developing models for systematic investment processes, and as a Quantitative Researcher at Man Group, specializing in research and portfolio management for trading products. Michael's career also includes an Implementation Analyst position at AHL, where responsibilities included investment management and process optimization, as well as an Independent Valuations Analyst role at Lloyds Banking Group, focusing on daily reserve computations and data management for financial products. Michael holds a Ph.D. in the formation and evolution of galaxies from the Osservatorio di Padova/SISSA and a Master's degree in Physics with Astronomy from Nottingham University.
