Brion Matthews

Brion has charted a steady path of success in the field of accountancy, taking a position as an internal bank auditor after graduating from college. There he learned the importance of proper controls over financial procedures and how to assess their implementation, effectiveness, and efficiency. From there he went on to be the Accounting Manager for a growing, worldwide printing company. For five years, Brion was instrumental in managing the areas of financial reporting, human resource management, client collections, and vendor relations as the company grew from annual sales of 4 million to over 10 million. He then spent three tax seasons at the public accounting firm of Margolin, Winer & Evens LLP where he gained challenging exposure to a variety of clients in many different areas of commerce. While there, he broadened and sharpened his skills in financial reporting, and as an auditor and tax preparer. He then went back to the private sector, taking an Assistant Controller position with a non-profit preschool and day care center where he led the organization’s accounting department. While there, he was instrumental in the transition from outdated systems to the implementation of a new custom attendance/billing system for the organization. He was also heavily involved in the bond issue and other financial aspects of the construction of a brand new facility for the organization that opened ahead of schedule and under budget. He then went back to public accounting for 12 more years, broadening and sharpening his overall skills as a Certified Public Accountant for a vast array of personal and corporate clients before joining our team, where he and his wealth of accounting knowledge and experience will be a key part to our success and continued nationwide growth.
