Jim Bates

Jim Bates is an accomplished risk management professional with extensive experience in the gaming and insurance sectors. Currently serving as the Director of Risk Management for MGM Resorts International, Bates oversees risk management and insurance for MGM Yonkers/Empire City Casino and MGM Springfield, managing a diverse portfolio that includes large casino operations, hotels, and event spaces. Previously, Bates held the role of Director of Risk Management at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, focusing on risk analysis and mitigation for the expansive Las Vegas resort. With a background that includes leadership positions at MassMutual Financial Group and The Hartford, Bates has successfully developed business channels and strategies across various markets.
