Arlen Carballo has a diverse work experience spanning various roles within the hospitality and gaming industry. They started their career in 2006 as a member of Disney's College Program, where they assisted guests with check-ins, baggage delivery, and answered property-related inquiries.
In 2008, Arlen joined Bellagio as a Management Associate under the MAP program, rotating through departments and gaining exposure to various aspects of hotel operations. They then assumed roles as a Housekeeping Supervisor, Assistant Executive Housekeeper, and Financial Analyst at Bellagio, where they oversaw housekeeping operations, conducted room inspections, and handled financial analysis and reporting.
In 2013, Arlen joined the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino as an Executive Housekeeper, responsible for implementing guest service standards and managing a team of 1,000 employees. They then transitioned to MGM Resorts International in 2015 as a Senior Financial Analyst, supporting pre-opening phases of developing properties and maintaining compliance reports.
Arlen's next role was at MGM National Harbor in 2015, where they worked as a Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis. They developed and monitored monthly results, built departmental budgets, and implemented daily operating reports.
Most recently, Arlen joined MGM Springfield in 2017 as the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, eventually progressing to the Director of Finance and then the Executive Director of Finance. In these positions, they provided strategic direction, managed financial operations, ensured compliance with company procedures and state regulations, and led the budgeting process. Currently, they hold the role of Vice President of Finance at MGM Springfield.
Arlen Carballo completed a Bachelor's degree in Hotel, Motel, and Restaurant Management from Northern Arizona University. The degree was obtained between 2004 and 2008. In addition to the degree, Arlen Carballo has obtained several certifications from LinkedIn, including "Executive Presence: Tips for Women" in February 2023, "Learning from Failure" and "Managing Team Creativity" in October 2019, "Excel Business Intelligence Part 1: Power Query" and "Strategic Thinking" in July 2019.
