Mahesh Garikota

Mahesh Garikota is the SVP, Cyber & Network Solutions at MGT Consulting Group. Mahesh has over 15 years of experience in the IT industry, specializing in network security.

Garikota started their career as a Senior Network Security Engineer at Satyam Computer Services Ltd in March 2005. There, they built firewalls and security policy, designed networks and security at the data center, and administered and supported Cisco ASA firewalls and Juniper SA VPN devices. Mahesh also implemented and supported EIGRP and BGP configurations, HSRP, load balancing/failover configurations, and GRE Tunnel Configurations.

In November 2009, Garikota moved to Virtue Group where they were responsible for Cisco FWSM 2.6/3.0 implementations and troubleshooting, IOS security configurations, IPSec VPN implementation and troubleshooting, and DMZ implementation and troubleshooting. Mahesh also performed Cisco Cat OS to Cisco IOS upgrades on the 6513 Platform and supported F5 Big IP LTM lobalancing for various applications including SSL pages.

Garikota has extensive experience in proactive, incident, and problem management including in-depth troubleshooting using sniffer tools like Ethreal , Wireshark packet capture on the firewalls, syslog, debug logs etc. Mahesh has also ensured the compliance of Quality and Security procedures related to the hosting environment with implementation and documentation as per ISO 27001 standards and ITIL service delivery as well as support all the clients’ individual auditing requirements including SAS70, SOX compliance, and recertification.

Mahesh Garikota has a Master's degree in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services from Osmania University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Sri Venkateswara University.

They work with Ashok Pilla - NOC Manager, Avinash Vellori - Senior Technical Program Manager, and Vishal Maheshwaram - Lead Network & Security Engineer. Mahesh Garikota reports to Alton Kizziah, EVP & GM, Technology Solutions.
