Afdhal Aliasar is an accomplished Islamic economy and finance practitioner recognized as the inaugural winner of the 2025 Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Prize for Impactful Achievement in Islamic Economics. Afdhal earned a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Indonesia in 1997 and later pursued a Master’s in Strategic Management from Prasetiya Mulya Business School. Their robust career in the banking and investment sectors includes leadership roles at Citibank N.A. and Nomura, and they have established several enterprises focused on Islamic finance and the real economy, such as PT. Pengelola Aset Islami Indonesia and Yayasan Wakaf Produktif Pengelola Aset Islami Indonesia. Currently, Afdhal serves as the Group CEO at MHDC Group and continues to lead initiatives in Islamic finance and development.
