Dan Murray

Dan Murray is an accomplished entrepreneur and leader with extensive experience in the software and manufacturing sectors. As the Founder, CEO, and Chairman of Vertex Software since 2017, Dan specializes in optimizing CAD and PLM investments through innovative, file-based workflow solutions. In addition to this role, Dan serves as a Limited Partner at mHUB Chicago, supporting early-stage hardware companies, and is a member of Hyde Park Angels, the Midwest's largest angel group. Previous positions include Chairman at Structurely, Founder of Workiva, and co-founder of WebFilings, where Dan played a significant role in developing cloud-based financial reporting solutions. Dan’s career also features leadership roles at Murray5.net, Phasient, and Engineering Animation, reflecting a strong background in software development and product innovation. Dan holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University.
