Rakel Lafave

Rakel LaFave is an experienced educator and Spanish curriculum developer currently working at Miaplaza, Inc. since May 2023. Prior to this role, Rakel served as a High School Spanish Teacher with Wake County Public School System from July 2021 to April 2023, and as a K-8 Spanish Teacher at Guilford County Schools from July 2019 to June 2021, where innovative virtual lessons were created during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rakel's commitment to educational equity was demonstrated through participation in Teach For America as a 2019 Corps Member. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Education Studies and Hispanic Studies from Brown University, a Master of Arts in Spanish Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and study abroad experiences in Granada and Buenos Aires.
