Mariaelena Salazar

Mariaelena Salazar is an accomplished IT professional with extensive experience in both public service and private consulting. Currently serving as the Shared Services Director of the Information Technology Department for Miami-Dade County since January 2009, Mariaelena oversees a diversified IT organization for one of the largest metropolitan county governments in the United States. Prior to this role, Mariaelena was the Assistant Town Manager and CIO for the Town of Miami Lakes, managing a range of city operations including finance, public works, and human resources. Additional leadership experience includes serving as President/Owner/CEO of M.E.S. Information Technology Consulting and holding positions at Pharmacy Benefits Administrator and Miami-Dade County. Mariaelena's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Florida International University, along with additional leadership training from several prestigious institutions.
