Kelly Smith

Kelly Smith serves as the Chief Scientific Officer at Michael Garron Hospital and holds the inaugural Michael Garron Chair in Patient Oriented Research since September 2021. Concurrently, Kelly is an Associate Professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto. Previous roles include Senior Director of Research at the MedStar Institute for Quality and Safety and Director of Quality and Patient Safety Research at MedStar Health Research Institute. At the University of Illinois at Chicago, Kelly held multiple positions including Research Assistant Professor and Director of Continuing Medical Education, contributing significantly to patient safety research and education. Kelly earned a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences, an M.Sc. in Exercise Physiology, and a B.Kin in Kinesiology, all from McMaster University.
