Aaron D. Harris is a seasoned legal professional currently serving as a Partner and Principal at Michael Best Strategies, and as Senior Counsel at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP since January 2021. Additionally, Aaron holds a fellowship with the Chicago Urban League’s IMPACT Leadership Development Fellowship program, which began in September 2020. Previous roles include Interim Legislative Director and First Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Legislative Affairs in the Office of the Governor of Illinois from February 2019 to December 2020, and Chief of Intergovernmental Relations at the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice from January 2016 to February 2019. Aaron also served as Legal Counsel and FOIA Officer for the Illinois State Police between February 2014 and January 2016. Aaron D. Harris earned a Doctor of Law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from Morehouse College.
