William Sands

Variation Reduction Leader at Michelin

William Sands, M.S. is a Process Quality Engineer at Michelin since July 2022, focusing on improving rubber extrusion processes by creating recipes, designing dies, and evaluating new tests. Previously, William conducted research as a Graduate Student Researcher at Clemson University from April 2019 to May 2022, studying the impact of space ion irradiation on ceramic materials and presenting findings at the OPTICA Materials Conference. Additional experience includes various roles at Clemson University, including Student Laboratory Assistant and Undergraduate Student Researcher, where research concentrated on fuel cell fabrication and thermal analysis methods. William also interned with the National Science Foundation on structural health monitoring of thermoplastic composites and worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor at Thomas E. Hannah YMCA. William holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Clemson University, as well as a High School Diploma from Boiling Springs High School.
