April Stopczynski

April Stopczynski has been the Manager of Access & Prevention at the Michigan Dental Association since 2018. April has over 20 years of experience in customer service and administration.

April began their career in 1997 as a Finance Secretary at Peerless Mattress and Furniture. In this role, they were responsible for processing sales and financing, updating customer sales and inventory in a database, approving and denying credit and credit limits, explaining policies and procedures to customers and employees, handling exchanges and refunds, training new sales staff on sales and financing procedures, accounts receivable, and inventory management. April also handled all aspects of the cash drawer, including nightly balancing and reporting, and daily bank deposits.

In October 1997, April transitioned to Felpausch Food Center where they held three positions over the course of their year-long tenure: Cash Office Assistant, Assistant Systems Administrator, and Cashier. As Cash Office Assistant, April maintained and balanced cash drawers and balanced the cash office. As Assistant Systems Administrator, they performed weekly store audits and other administrative duties as needed. And as Cashier, they assisted customers with lotto ticket sales, money orders, mailings, and cashing checks using excellent customer service skills. April also handled price error detection/correction and ran pricing reports.

April joined the Michigan Dental Association in 2018 as the Manager of Access & Prevention. In this role, they are responsible for leading initiatives to increase access to dental care for underserved populations and promoting oral health education throughout Michigan.

April Stopczynski has a degree in marketing and public relations from Lansing Community College. April also has an equestrian and equine studies degree from The University of Findlay. In addition, April is certified in adult, child, and infant CPR/AED from the American Health Care Academy.

April Stopczynski reports to Bill Sullivan, VP, Advocacy & Professional Relations. They are on a team with Neema Katibai - Government & Insurance Affairs Manager, Karn Cornell - Donated Dental Services Program Coordinator, and Domonique Brace - Donated Dental Services Program Coordinator.
