Brian Schrems

Brian Schrems has a diverse work experience in human resources. Brian started their career as a Human Resources Specialist at Michigan Economic Development Corporation in January 2012 and later became a Senior Human Resources Specialist until September 2013. Brian then moved to Jackson National Life and worked as an HR Field Generalist I from February 2001 to January 2006 and as an HR Field Generalist II from February 2001 to December 2011. Brian returned to Michigan Economic Development Corporation in April 2016 as a Director, Human Resources & Administration and is currently serving as the Director, HR Policy & Property Services. In these roles, they have been responsible for managing HR policies, procedures, initiatives, employee relations, performance management, and benefit plans compliance.

Brian Schrems obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science from Michigan State University from 1995 to 2000. Additionally, they have earned several certifications, including the SHRM-CP from SHRM in May 2018, the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) from SHRM in January 2015, and the Professional in Human Resources (PHR®) from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in May 2008.
