Nicole (Thomson) Black has a diverse work experience in economic development and business consulting. Nicole began their career in 2001 as a Loan & Finance Officer at the Oakland County Business Finance Corporation, where they marketed and packaged the SBA 504 loan program. Nicole then joined Oakland County Medical Main Street as a Medical Main Street Leader until 2014.

In 2011, Nicole transitioned to the Oakland County Economic Development & Community Affairs, where they held multiple roles. As a Senior Business Development Representative/European Business Development, they specialized in attracting European companies in various sectors. Nicole also served as a Business Development Representative/Business Consultant, providing support to small businesses in Oakland County through counseling and referral services.

Since 2017, Nicole has been at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, initially as a Business Development Manager and later as a Regional Director, Growth & Development.
