Rachel Bakken

Rachel Bakken is an experienced finance professional currently serving as the Senior Capital Project & Portfolio Manager at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) since April 2022. In this role, Rachel is responsible for the negotiation, structuring, and execution of complex financing projects in underserved markets, utilizing credit enhancement programs to facilitate access to capital for lower middle market companies. Previous experience includes positions as a Senior Credit Analyst at Dart Bank, an SBA Underwriter and VP at Oxford Bank, and a Capital Project & Portfolio Manager at MEDC, where Rachel managed investment projects focused on tax credits and public/private partnerships. Rachel began the career as a Portfolio Manager at the Michigan Certified Development Corporation and has held various roles in commercial credit analysis, starting at Bank One. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Central Michigan University.
