Julie Dean

Julie Dean, MA TESOL, is an experienced English Language Instructor with a comprehensive background in teaching reading, writing, speaking, and grammar to speakers of other languages. Currently, Julie has been employed at Michigan Language Center since September 2012 and previously taught at Oakland Community College from September 2014 to May 2017. Julie's international teaching experience includes serving as an English as a Foreign Language teacher in Trencin, Slovakia, from August 2010 to November 2012. Prior to a career in education, Julie held various positions in communications and marketing, including Communications Director for the Washtenaw County Chapter of the American Red Cross and multiple roles as Vice President and Account Supervisor at several agencies from 1983 to 2003. Julie holds a Master's degree in TESOL from Eastern Michigan University and an additional Master's degree from the University of Michigan, where a Bachelor of Arts in French Literature was also earned.
