Rachael Gates, DMA, is a seasoned vocal performance educator and author, currently serving as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Grand Valley State University since August 2014. In addition to this role, Rachael is a VIPP Public Speaking Specialist at Michigan State University and a Vocal Health Specialist for the Committee on Musicians' Health at The College Music Society. As an author for Oxford University Press, Rachael wrote "The Owner's Manual to the Voice," offering accessible insights into vocal health. Previous appointments include roles at Michigan State University as part of the Musician's Wellness Team and at prestigious institutions such as Yale University and Northwestern University.
