Penny Payea

Penny Payea, CPC, GCDF, serves as the Director of Business Services and Economic Development for Ogemaw County at Michigan Works! Region 7B since November 2019, focusing on assessing talent needs for businesses, program development, community collaboration, and coaching individuals through life transitions. In addition, Penny is the Director of Business Services & Economic Development for the Ogemaw County Economic Development Corporation, assisting businesses from inception to succession. Previous experience includes managing the Tawas Area Chamber of Commerce, where responsibilities encompassed supervision, strategic planning, and board collaboration, as well as an account manager role at Healthcare Services Group. Early career involvement included volunteer management at Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan and career development coordination at North Branch Schools. Educational qualifications include certifications from Michigan State University, Mott Community College, Aim Higher, and Oakland University.
