Emiliano Vilardo

Lead Organism Engineer at Michroma

Emiliano Vilardo is an experienced Lead Organism Engineer at Michroma, a biotech startup focused on producing sustainable natural ingredients through advanced CRISPR techniques. Prior to this role, Emiliano was a Researcher PhD Student at CONICET, studying spermatogenesis in Drosophila species with an emphasis on CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing for biotechnological applications. Emiliano also held positions as a Trainee at INTA, where skills in phenotypic characterization and microscopy techniques were developed, and served as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at CREG-UNLP, applying genome editing techniques in insects. Additionally, Emiliano was an Undergraduate Professor of Genetics II at the Universidad Nacional del Noroeste de la Provincia de Buenos Aires. Emiliano holds a Licenciatura en Genética from the same university and is currently pursuing a Professorship at Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina.
