William Shay

William Shay has worked in the IT industry since 2001. William began their career as a Senior Consultant at nSpin, LLC, where they were recognized as an industry specialist in data warehousing and software integration. In 2003, they joined Classic Residence by Hyatt as an IT Architect, where they devised strategies for data transferred between business systems and designed and managed all interfaces. In 2009, they became the Business Intelligence (BI) Systems Manager at Sears Holdings Corporation, where they led a team of ten Architects and Developers in transitioning the company to new BI and Data Warehouse technologies. In 2012, they were hired as the Director of Business Intelligence at Bed Bath & Beyond, where they built and led a distributed team of Data Warehouse and BI professionals. Finally, in 2019, they joined Micro Strategies Inc. as the Chief Architect - Data & Analytics, where they helped customers modernize their data and analytics environments and lead a team of developers and analysts with a focus on data, analytics, AI, and ML.

William Shay has obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business / Information Technology from the University of Phoenix, and an Associate of Science - AS in Computer Aided Design Drafting from Triton College. William also holds a range of certifications from Splunk, Amazon Web Services, MicroStrategy, and Paxata, including Splunk Core Certified Power User (obtained in October 2020), Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin (obtained in February 2021), Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect (obtained in April 2021), AWS Cloud Certification (Candidate), MicroStrategy Certified Report Developer, and Paxata Certification Workshop.
