Paraic O Cuiv

Paraic O Cuiv has a diverse work experience in the field of microbiology and research. Paraic started their career as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the School of Biotechnology, Dublin City University in Ireland from September 2003 to October 2006, where they focused on studying the opportunistic human pathogen, Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Paraic then joined CSIRO in 2007 as a Research Scientist, leading the "Australian Jumpstart Human Microbiome Project" and working on the isolation and characterization of gut bacteria from healthy Australians. Paraic also managed project budgets and research teams, delivering significant research outcomes until December 2013.

From December 2013 to October 2018, Paraic worked as a Research Fellow at The University of Queensland, specifically at the Diamantina Institute located at the Translational Research Institute. Paraic collaborated with clinicians and gastroenterologists to identify bacteria relevant to chronic intestinal conditions.

Since October 2018, Paraic has been associated with Microba Life Sciences, where they have held the roles of Lead - Live Biotherapeutics and Vice President of Drug Discovery. Further details about their current role are not provided.

Paraic O Cuiv completed their BSc in Biotechnology at the School of Biotechnology, Dublin City University, Ireland from 1995 to 1999. Paraic then pursued further education and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Microbiology and microbial genetics from the same institution, from 1999 to 2003.
