Karl Simard P.eng.

Karl Simard P.Eng. has extensive experience in engineering management and system validation, currently serving as Manager of Design Engineering at Microchip Technology Inc. since 2019. Prior roles at Microchip include Tech Staff Engineer in Design and Tech Lead in System Validation. Karl’s experience also encompasses a tenure at Microsemi, where responsibilities included System Validation Engineering and leading system validation efforts. Prior experience includes a position at PMC-Sierra focused on validating HBA's SAS subsystems and an internship at Broadcom as a firmware programmer. Karl holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering from Simon Fraser University, completed in 2008, and has contributed to their community as a council member for Whittaker council from 2010 to 2011.
