Michael Holmes has a diverse work experience spanning over 19 years. Michael is currently employed as the Sr. Director of Program Management Operations at MicroHealth, LLC since July 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Consultant at Emerge Solutions Group from November 2018 to July 2019.

From January 2016 to November 2018, Michael served as the Chief of AFMS Innovations & IT Portfolio at the United States Air Force. Their responsibilities included managing research portfolios, representing AFMS at Joint Program Committee 1, and supervising various projects such as the AFMS Digital Genomic Biobank and Medical Device Implant and Tissue Tracking.

Before that, from October 2013 to January 2016, they worked as the Deputy Assistant Program Manager at Defense Health Medical System Moderization. Here, they managed acquisition activities and ensured that operational medicine requirements were incorporated into the acquisition process.

In July 2013, Michael briefly worked as the Director of Technical Coordination at Interagency Program Office. Earlier in their career, from July 2010 to July 2011, they held the position of Assistant Deputy Program Executive Officer - Innovation & Delivery at PEO Joint Medical Information Systems. Additionally, from August 2005 to July 2010, they served as the Deputy Director of System Development at Defense Health Information Management System.

Furthermore, from June 2004 to August 2005, Michael worked as an Administrator at Rhein Main Air Base Clinic, where they led an ambulatory health clinic and managed the closure and transition of a medical facility during the Rhein Main Air Base closure.

Lastly, from July 2001 to June 2004, they served as the Chief Information Officer - Medical in the Air National Guard.

Overall, Michael Holmes has extensive experience in program management, consulting, innovation, IT portfolio management, security, and system development.

Michael Holmes completed their education at the Texas Tech University - Rawls College of Business. Michael first obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a focus on Management Information Systems, graduating between 1990 and 1993. Michael later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, specializing in Management and Management Information Systems, and completed it between 1993 and 1995. In addition to their formal education, Michael has obtained several certifications throughout their career. These certifications include Certified Acquisition Professional - Information Technology - Level 3 from the Defense Acquisition University (obtained in June 2016), CSM - Certified Scrum Master from the Scrum Alliance (obtained in October 2010), Certified Acquisition Professional - Program Management - Level 3 from the Defense Acquisition University (obtained in January 2010), PMP - Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute (obtained in May 2006), Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems from HIMSS (obtained in October 2006), Certified SAFe® 5 Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc. (obtained in January 2022), Certified SAFe® 6 Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc. (obtained in June 2023), and Certified SAFe® 4 Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc. (obtained in November 2019).
