Marc Pollefeys

Partner Director of Science, Spatial AI Lab

Marc Pollefeys is a professor in the Institute for Visual Computing of the Department of Computer Science at ETH Zurich, where they have taught since 2007. They also hold the position of Partner Director of Science at the Spatial AI Lab at Microsoft as of 2024. Prior to their current roles, Marc was involved with the Department of Computer Science at UNC Chapel Hill from 2002 to 2009 and conducted research at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, where they obtained their M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. Marc's primary research focus is on computer vision, and they have authored over 300 peer-reviewed papers, contributing significantly to the field. They are recognized as a fellow of the IEEE and have received numerous awards for their research, including the Marr prize and the NSF CAREER award.
