Ernest Stuart has a diverse work experience in the music industry. Ernest currently serves as the Program Director of Jazz at Mid Atlantic Arts. In their previous role as a Creative Consultant at MAKE/SHIFT Arts, they produced performing arts events, conducted booking and contract negotiations, and worked as a theme song producer for a PBS Kids show. Additionally, they photographed artists for major and indie record labels, with their work being published in notable publications such as Rollingstone.
Prior to this, Ernest worked as a Freelance Trombonist, performing at renowned festivals and venues worldwide. Ernest used Instagram and original musical compositions to connect directly with artists such as Erykah Badu and John Legend. Ernest also founded and served as the Executive Director of the Center City Jazz Festival, where they managed all aspects of event planning, delivery, and stakeholder communication.
Ernest has teaching experience as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Indianapolis, where they helped design the program's goals and advised students on senior projects and academic matters. Throughout their career, they have established a strong network and collaborated with various renowned artists and industry professionals.
Ernest Stuart's education history includes pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Jazz Performance at Temple University. Additionally, they have completed or is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Nonprofit Management at Columbia University.

Created in 1979, Mid Atlantic Arts is aligned with the region’s state arts councils and the National Endowment for the Arts. We combine state and federal funding with private support from corporations, foundations, and individuals to nurture diverse artistic expression while connecting people to meaningful arts experiences within our region and beyond.
