Kate Seelye is currently the Senior Vice President at Middle East Institute. Previously, Kate served as the Vice President for Arts, Culture & Communications at MEI, where Kate launched an arts and culture program. With a background in journalism and production, Kate has worked for PBS-TV, Frontline/World, Channel Four/Unreported World, National Public Radio, and The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. Kate also holds a Bachelor's degree from Amherst College and a Master of Arts from the University of Southern California, Annenberg School of Communications.

Middle East Institute
Founded in 1946, the Middle East Institute (MEI) is the oldest Washington, DC-based institution dedicated exclusively to the study of the Middle East. Its founders, scholar George Camp Keiser and former US Secretary of State Christian Herter laid out a simple mandate: “to increase knowledge of the Middle East among the citizens of the United States and to promote a better understanding between the people of these two areas.” MEI is a respected, non-partisan voice in the field of Middle East studies.
