Oliver John

Oliver John is the Founder and President of Astrolabe Global Strategy, which specializes in providing strategic insights on global political and economic issues, particularly in the Middle East and North Africa region, since September 2019. Additionally, Oliver serves as a Non Resident Scholar at the Middle East Institute since May 2020. Prior experience includes a lengthy tenure at the U.S. Department of State from 1991 to September 2019, where key roles included Senior Middle East Intelligence Analyst, Acting Director/Deputy Director, and Economic Counselor, which involved leading advocacy efforts and developing educational courses. Oliver holds a Master of Arts in International Relations and Affairs from the American University School of International Service, a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College, and a Bachelor's degree in History and Political Science from Northwestern University.
