Wendy Chamberlin

Wendy Chamberlin has extensive experience in international relations, foreign policy, and humanitarian efforts, currently serving as President of the Middle East Institute since 2007, with a focus on Afghanistan, Pakistan, development, and US foreign policy. Previously, Chamberlin held significant positions such as Deputy High Commissioner for the UN Refugee Agency (2004-2007), Ambassador to Pakistan (2001-2002), and Ambassador to the Lao People's Democratic Republic (1996-1999). Chamberlin also worked at USAID as Assistant Administrator for the Asia/Near East Division (2002-2004) and served at the Department of State in various capacities, including Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and Director of Global Affairs and Counterterrorism at the National Security Council. Academically, Chamberlin holds an MA in Education from Boston University, a BS in Political Science and Education from Northwestern University, and has participated in an Executive Course on International Security at Harvard Kennedy School.
