Midland, Michigan local newspaper. The first newspaper, The Midland Daily Sentinel, was a weekly that was founded in May of 1858 by Nathan T, Carr. Changing hands throughout the decades and joining The Associated Press network, ownership of the Daily News eventually changed to The Hearst Corporation in October of 1979.
