Sophia Christel

Sophia Christel is an experienced management analyst at Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, overseeing the implementation of the Climate Action Plan and coordinating a department budget of approximately $4M. Previous roles include Planner I, Sustainability Policy Fellow at City of San Jose, and a Communications and Outreach Intern at Stanford University, where Sophia contributed to various sustainability initiatives. With a strong background in researching environmental policies and creating interpretive materials, Sophia has also led tours as a docent at Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve and has engaged in educational programming related to ecology. Sophia holds a Master’s degree in Earth Systems and a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in the same field from Stanford University.
