Midwest Energy & Communications
Midwest Energy & Communications (MEC) brings electric, fiber internet, phone, and propane solutions to customers in southern Michigan, northern Indiana, and northwest Ohio. We are dedicated to eliminating the digital divide that limits success for those without access to high-speed communications. Through 2026, we will expand internet and phone service to an additional 30,000+ business and residential customers, ensuring that they have the connectivity they need to thrive. We are also building the Southwest Michigan Advanced Research & Technology (SMART) Park in Cassopolis, MI. We welcome companies seeking to expand or build facilities centrally located in the U.S. SMART Park is a CN Certified Rail Ready Site, which provides direct access to CR Rail’s 20,000-mile network and reduces time from site selection to construction for partnering companies. The Park is also close to major state highways and U.S. interstates. Finally, we house a scalable, state-of-the-art colocation data center in Cassopolis, MI. Our center includes critical systems infrastructure, rigorous incremental multi-tier security, and reliable cross-connects. Point-to-point Layer 2 and Layer 3 IP transport options are available as well as private space and unmetered data.
