Nathan Nard

Nathan Nard is a Technical Lead at Midwest Insurance Company since April 2019, where responsibilities include code reviews, mentorship of junior developers, and addressing user inquiries. Prior to this role, Nathan served as an Application Developer, acquiring expertise in Workers’ Compensation and Health Insurance, while also managing system configurations critical to California operations. As an Independent Software Developer from June 2012 to April 2019, Nathan created a Sudoku Puzzle GUI named YuSuDoKu. Earlier experiences include positions as a Math/Science Tutor, Undergraduate Researcher at Douglas A. Mitchell Lab, Chemistry Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and team member in the IGEM competition, earning recognition for a bio-engineering web tool. Nathan holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and dual bachelor's degrees in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Chemistry, with a minor in Informatics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
