Michael Birger

Michael Birger has a long and successful career in the business industry. In 2000, they began working as a Managing Director for Deloitte. After three years, they moved to Entertainment Properties Trust, where they served as Vice President of Investments from 2003 to 2009. In 2009, they began working as Managing Director for Top Gear Advisors Ltd. in Hong Kong, and also as Chief Operating Officer for Sino/US Holdings LLC. In 2014, they joined Compass Minerals, first as Vice President of Strategic Development and then as Global Head of Corporate Strategy and Corporate Development. From 2017 to 2020, they were President of the Sulphate of Potash Information Board (SOPIB). In 2020, they became Chief Executive Officer of Midwestern BioAg.

Michael Birger completed an Executive Education program in Strategic Negotiation and Investment at Harvard Business School in 2018. Michael holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Boston University in Finance, a BSBA from The University of Kansas in Finance and Marketing, and a BA from The University of Kansas in Slavic Languages and Literature. In addition, they are a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) from CIRA, obtained in November of 2000.
