Fundació Mies van der Rohe
Laida Memba Ikuga is an accomplished architect and cultural project manager with extensive experience in heritage promotion, project management, and research. Currently serving as the Cultural Project Manager for Fundació Mies van der Rohe in relation to the Barcelona World Capital of Architecture 2026, Laida also curates the Simon Prize - Living Places. As a founder and co-director of Patrimonio Guinea, Laida advocates for the revitalization of Equatoguinean heritage to enhance quality of life and sustainable development. In addition to a freelance architecture career since 2003, Laida has held roles in various organizations, including as a researcher for (Tr)African(t)s and España Negra, focusing on cultural rights and the exploration of black heritage. Educational credentials include a Master of Architecture from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and a degree in Business Sustainability Management from the University of Cambridge.
