Petri Pekonen

Petri Pekonen has extensive experience in local government and agriculture, currently serving as a City Board Member and City Council Member for Mikkelin kaupunki since 2009, along with holding the position of Chairman of the Regional Environmental Committee. Currently a Regional Council Member for the Regional Council of Etelä-Savo since 2017, Pekonen is also the Vice Chairman of the Center Party South-Savo since 2019. Additionally, Pekonen operates Lenjus farm since 1988 and previously served as Chairman of Mikkelin tuomiokirkkoseurakunta from 2017 to 2023, and as a member of the Supervisory Board at Suur-Savon Osuuspankki from 2011 to 2020. Educational qualifications include completing studies at Mikkelin Yhteiskoulun lukio, earning a degree as a yo. maanviljelijä from Suonenjoen maatalousoppilaitos, and training at the Reserve Officer School in 1987.
