James Burgess

James Burgess is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in innovation and business development. Currently serving as a Partner at Mila Ridge Partners since May 2023, James focuses on acquiring and growing businesses in Northern New England. Previous roles include Vice President of Innovation and Co-Founder at Finch Therapeutics Group, as well as Co-Founder and Executive Director at OpenBiome. James also held a consultancy position in Agricultural Development at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and has worked at Bain & Company, GE Energy, Princeton University, and the Breakthrough Institute. Educationally, James holds an AB in Mathematics from Princeton University and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.
