Pete Magnuson

Pete Magnuson has a diverse and extensive work experience in various leadership roles within professional associations. Starting in 1993, they worked as an Editor at the Association for Financial Professionals, where they gained journalistic skills and learned about layout, design, and printing. Pete then joined NAESP in 1999 as a Senior Editor and Director of Publications, where they developed public relations tactics and cross-platform communication strategies. In 2004, Magnuson moved on to the Association for Career and Technical Education, serving as the Senior Director of Communications, Programs and Communications, and Strategic Partnerships. During their time there, they launched successful publications, developed long-term relationships, and implemented marketing strategies. In 2013, they became the Director of Marketing at the National Recreation and Park Association, improving marketing through data analysis and achieving high returns on membership drives. From 2014 to 2023, Magnuson was the Director of Communications and Member Services at the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, where they doubled event attendance and transformed the publications department into a profit center. In 2023, they joined the Military Officers Association of America as the VP of Communications. Throughout their career, Magnuson has demonstrated effective project management, data analysis, target marketing, and a passion for developing and delivering great products and services.

Pete Magnuson attended Syracuse University from 1990 to 1993, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and English. Prior to that, they attended Susquehanna University in 1989-1990, but no specific degree or field of study information is available. In terms of additional certifications, Pete obtained the title of Competent Communicator from Toastmasters International in June 2018. In addition, they earned the CAE certification from ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership in June 2008.
