Kevin Barthel

Kevin Barthel is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in land tenure and property management. Currently serving as a Senior Land Tenure and Property Specialist at the Millennium Challenge Corporation since 2006 and as the Director of Programs - Practice Manager at the Global Land Alliance since 2014, Barthel focuses on effective land rights and sustainable development. Previous roles include consulting for Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo and working as an independent consultant specializing in land tenure from 2004 to 2014, as well as serving as a Natural Resources Specialist at the Inter American Development Bank and a Supervisory Cartographer at the US Department of Commerce's National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Environmental Studies with a focus on Land Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Bachelor's degree in Geography with an emphasis on Cartography from Northern Illinois University, and postgraduate studies in Latin American Studies and Economics at The George Washington University.
