Susan Kowalczyk has a diverse work experience spanning across various roles in different organizations. Susan started their career as a Senior Consultant in Provider Consulting Solutions in 1999, conducting data analysis and participating in the creation of a web-based support tool for healthcare providers. In 2003, they worked as a Senior Solutions Analyst in Ascension Information Services, where they led the implementation of computerized provider order entry systems in maternity and nursery. Later in 2009, they worked as a consultant to Epoch Health Solutions.
Kowalczyk also worked at Millennium Medical Imaging, PC as an independent IT contractor from 2009 until 2014, where they were responsible for managing a network of diagnostic and non-diagnostic reading workstations. Susan then became the Chie Executive Officer (CEO) at the same Company in September 2022, and previously held the position of Chief Technology and Innovation Officer (CTIO) from 2014 until August 2022.
From 2007 until 2014, Kowalczyk worked at St. Mary's Healthcare Amsterdam as a PACS Administrator, where they provided crucial IT support to medical imaging and cardio-pulmonary departments, external clients, and routine maintenance of servers. Susan also identified and resolved technical issues relating to the healthcare information system with a particular focus on the Meditech Magic RAD, OE, NMI, PACS, EKG, and voice recognition environments.
Susan Kowalczyk earned their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management Information Systems (MIS) and a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies from the University at Albany, SUNY from 1996 to 2002. Additionally, they received a Japan AIEJ Peace & Friendship Scholarship for East Asian Studies in 1997-1998. Susan has also obtained several certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), CompTIA A+, Project Management Professional (PMP), MIRTH Connect Certification, and Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) from ABII. Susan also participated in Dashboard in a Day - Power BI from Pragmatic Works and SIIM BP SITE from Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) in 2023 and 2021 respectively.
