James Reid has extensive experience in the field of strategic land and planning. James started their career at Barratt Developments plc in 2012, working as a Planning Assistant before progressing to roles as a Strategic Land Buyer and eventually a Strategic Land Manager. In 2018, they joined Miller Homes Ltd as a Strategic Land and Planning Manager, and later became an Associate Strategic Land Director. Currently, they hold the position of Strategic Land Director at Miller Homes Ltd. In 2021, they briefly worked at the North of Tyne Combined Authority as part of the Citizens Assembly for Climate Change.
James Reid attended Cramlington Sixth Form from 2007 to 2009, where they pursued A Levels in Geography, IT, and Business. Following this, from 2009 to 2012, they studied at The University of Sheffield, earning a bachelor's degree in Urban Studies and Planning.
