Yusuf Büyük

Yusuf BÜYÜK, who was born in Sivas in 1963, completed his primary, secondary and high school education here. He graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Theology in 1984. He started his teaching career in 1985 and worked as a teacher and manager in various schools in Zonguldak until 2000. In 2000, he was appointed as the Principal of Istanbul Kartal Aziz Bayraktar Imam Hatip High School. After being elected as the Mayor of Samandıra in 2004, he continued this duty until 2009. Between 2009 and 2010, he worked as a Minister Counselor at the Ministry of National Education. Between 2010 and 2013, he served as the Deputy General Director of Apprenticeship and Non-Formal Education at the Ministry of National Education. After working as the Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of National Education between 2013 - 2018, after the transition to the Presidential Government System, 05.12. He was appointed as the General Manager of Higher Education and Overseas Education in 2018. While continuing this duty, he also served as the General Manager of Secondary Education between 30.04.2019 and 11.12.2019. He started his duty as the General Directorate of Lifelong Learning at the Ministry of National Education on 09.01.2020. Yusuf BÜYÜK, who has worked as a manager in various non-governmental organizations, continues to be a member of the UNESCO Turkish National Commission Board of Directors as of February 23, 2017, and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Education Foundation as of September 05, 2020. He is married and has two children. He started his duty as the General Director of Lifelong Learning at the Ministry of National Education.
