Carissa Dowden

Carissa Dowden is a Planetarium Educator at the Milwaukee Public Museum since July 2023, responsible for presenting engaging astronomical programs, ensuring the safety of planetarium resources, and assisting with program preparations. Previous experience includes roles at Whole Foods Market as a Production Team Member and Bakery Counter Team Member, focusing on the production and display of quality baked goods. Carissa also served as a Historical Interpreter II for the City of Brooklyn Park, educating visitors about local agricultural history. Further experience includes a Graduate Teaching Assistant position at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where educational initiatives expanded to include various geography topics, and pharmacy-related roles at Walgreens, emphasizing customer interaction and prescription processing. Carissa holds a Master's degree in Geography from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
