JoEllen Burdue has extensive work experience in communications and media relations. JoEllen has served as the Senior Director of Communications and Media Relations at the Milwaukee School of Engineering since July 2020. In this role, they are responsible for directing the institution's communication channels, collaborating with key stakeholders, and acting as a liaison with the media. Prior to this, JoEllen held the position of Director of Communications and Media Relations at the same institution from December 2017 to July 2020. As the Director, they directed the institutional voice of MSOE's communication channels and served as the editor of Dimensions magazine. Before joining MSOE, JoEllen worked as the Director of Media Relations at the Milwaukee School of Engineering from March 2008 to December 2017. In this role, they served as a spokesperson and media liaison, supervised staff, and led various university initiatives. JoEllen also has experience as a Communications Specialist at the American Society for Quality and as a PR and Marketing Coordinator at the Milwaukee Public Library.
JoEllen Burdue holds a B.A. degree in English and Public Relations from Marquette University. JoEllen also has an MBA degree in Business Administration and Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University. In addition to their degrees, JoEllen has obtained certifications in Digital Marketing from Cornell University, and Website Design and Development from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
